Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football with volunteering for the community. In the first place the Selmons were raised by Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie. They lived on an agricultural property near Eufala located in Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. Two football. He is one of the three brothers that were players for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi award as the nation's best lineman. He was awarded two championships as well as the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter. In 1975, Selmon was awarded his third scholarship and was named a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon was awarded a degree from education. Lee Roy spent ten hours every week in volunteer work during his college years. After graduation, he moved into Tampa and played for nine years for the Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro for three occasions. After that, he began his professional career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. So it's not surprising that in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's top 10 young males. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6'2 inches. In his time at college, he commanded the team of 1975. He was promoted to the athletic director's assistant at the University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented its Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
