Anna Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Ilkay Silk has been an actress, director as well as a producer, playwright, and educator in St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton, the child of the couple Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" born in Britain. Anna remembers attending rehearsals for productions as a young girl and observing her mother at work. Anna appeared in several advertisements in her youth.
