StephanieStephanie Sigman is a Mexican American actress. Her debut role was in Miss Bala, a Mexican crime drama film. She then appeared in Pioneer (2013), Spectre (2015) and Going Under (2016). On TV, Sigman starred in Narcos (2015) and S.W.A.T (2017) for the first and second seasons of both series. Sigman was born in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico with a Mexican mother and an American father, Lee Sigman, a New York Yankees scout from Kansas. Through her father, she's an U.S. citizen. The brother of her and the baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman, was earlier engaged to actress Barbara Mori Sigman began her career appearing on Mexican TV before making her film debut in Rio de Oro. In 2011 she was cast in the lead role in the film Laura Guerrero in the Mexican crime drama film, Miss Bala. [6] The Mexican entry in the category of Best Foreign Language Film was selected during the 84th Academy Awards. [7][8] However, it didn't get to the shortlist. For her film performance, Sigman was nominated in 2011 for the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award. [10][11] The following year, she played Catalina Aguado in the Canadian documentary film Flight of the Butterflies. In 2013, Sigman starred with Pioneer which was a Norwegian thriller.
