Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 6 May 1964) is a Danish actor from Denmark. He was in the role of Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral election candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) in the third series of Sherlock, as well as Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011, at the age of 27. In 1995, he received admission to the National Theatre School of Denmark. In addition to his part in The Killing, [1] the actor also appeared on Borgen III, a Danish drama that was widely acclaimed. He played the role of President of Russia in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his role in the Danish drama Herrens Veje,which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
